Scuse my paste from our very own BluesBrother but, "Since I still have a household that are zealous dubs , this place is release for my frustration, it is therapy. I feel a monster debt of gratitude to Simon and Anghared for starting and maintaining the board. When I joined, it was wonderful to find that there were other people who felt the same way that I did. - and this place is fun" pretty much sums it up for me too, and I would love to have a beer with him sometime.

A question for those that have been around this board for a long time
by JeffT inmy wife and i stopped going to meetings in 1988 and da'd in 1989. for a few years we both actively participated in the xjw world, she quit doing that a long time ago, and has pretty much completely moved on.
the other night i told her about my planned blog (which will probably launch this weekend) it will mostly be about my writing, a lot of which is mostly about jw related issues.
she asked why i am still so drawn to this subject.

A question for those that have been around this board for a long time
by JeffT inmy wife and i stopped going to meetings in 1988 and da'd in 1989. for a few years we both actively participated in the xjw world, she quit doing that a long time ago, and has pretty much completely moved on.

Why did the organization stop providing food during conventions?
by redvip2000 ini'm sure many of us still remember these times when the organization used to sell food at conventions.. i also remember that when this was stopped, the official reason was that the "brothers" were missing some of the program because of all the preparations.
typical watchtower "pretend we care" excuse.. i've wondered if there is another reason behind it, tied to perhaps finances or logistics that was the real deciding factor.
history and typical "modus operandi" of the society tells me that if there was some money to be made that way, they would not have stopped.. wonder if anybody has more info on this..

The door bell rang today
by ABibleStudent injust before i started undressing to take a shower to go to an appointment, the door bell rang.
i thought about not answering the door, but then thought what the hell it could be my neighbor, who is a widow and in her 70's, needing some help.. at the door was a frail man about 85+ years old dressed in a shabby sport coat, shirt, tie, and slacks, and a skinny woman about 75+ years old in a long dress that needed to be ironed.
as i grabbed my dog to prevent him from jumping at the screen door, which was partially open, and beating the couple with his tail and making them fall, i thought what am i going to do.

I've seen old time JWs still recruiting from their deathbeds. As long as they still breath, or believe, they are a danger to the unwary.
I have no sympathy for them. They saw prophetic failure by their church leaders decades ago and chose to ignore the warnings in their own Bibles and carry on recruiting, regardless of the implications. Their failure to ignore the evidence in their church's failure may have already resulted in the early demise of several of the converts of converts that they recruited and they don't give shit. Ask them. I have never had one show any remorse.

by garyneal ini think i heard that the wt recently announced that the fds is really the gb alone.
is this suppose to be brought out at the convention?.

I Need help with questions to ask during family study to help my wife wake up
by BU2B inlately when we have our family study we have been just reading the bible alone, without wt spin.
however i really need to start asking her good questions that wont set off her apostadar.
so i ask you fine folks; what are some questions or ways i can use the family study to help her think and start using her own mind on key ideas.

Old time JWs usually have a host of converts of converts of converts that they sucked into Rutherfords damaging little cult. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't feel some guilt for their actions.
